Camp Pontiac prides itself as the gold standard for providing summer camp medical care. Kenny and Ricky, our owners, have been physicians for over forty years and Camp Pontiac even has a full-time Medical Director! The level of medical expertise Pontiac can provide is simply unparalleled in the camping industry. The Boys’ Health Center was renovated in 2016 and our Girls’ Health Center was constructed in 2017. Camp Pontiac maintains strict health protocols such as Epi-Pen and defibrillator use which are managed by our highly experienced staff. At any given time, there are three to four physicians on the premises and twelve to fourteen nurses. Most of our physicians are pediatric emergency room doctors, family care doctors, or pediatricians. There are three area hospitals in Camp Pontiac’s immediate area and an EMA located just three minutes from camp. Even with Pontiac unmatched care, we have long been and will remain a nut-free camp. We strive to be 100% compliant in all food services within the dining room, canteen, ice cream parlor, snack areas, and even out of camp trips like day trips or sports tournaments. We also have alternative food choices to accommodate any campers with any gluten or lactose intolerance. Food allergies are supervised by two camp moms in conjunction with a nutritionist and our medical staff.

Our ultramodern air-conditioned medical buildings include:

  • Pharmacies
  • Asthma treatment rooms
  • Triage sections
  • Sophisticated amenities for outpatient and inpatient medical care
