Soccer
Come kick it with us at Camp Pontiac! Spanning six fields, our summer camp soccer program caters to all age groups and skill levels so that everyone has a spot on the field. We concentrate on skill development through group instruction and also facilitate more extensive coaching in our individualized private lessons - at no additional cost - and clinics. Former US Olympian and world champion goalkeeper Shep Messing plays a major role in implementing our program. Working with him and a team of six specialists is Tony Segura, whose extensive training and coaching resume includes time at the MLS level.
Campers practice various skills such as shooting, dribbling, trapping, passing, juggling, heading, goalkeeping, attacking, and defending. Our fields graduate in size beginning with smaller fields for our younger campers through a professional-sized field for our high school-age campers. Intramural camp leagues and tournaments are held each summer creating ample opportunity for game play. Camp Pontiac also proudly hosts our very own Craig Grumet Memorial tournament in memory of one of our beloved campers. For those with bigger "goals" in mind, we encourage them to join our optional Soccer Academy, which meets for two hours daily over the course of a two-week block.
