Tennis
Our tennis program is ready to go! We recently unveiled our brand new tennis complex where head pros Suresh Maurya and Eric Erlandsen supervise a staff of 11 experienced instructors. Each year Suresh trains over 500 youth players and 15 coaches at local, state, and national levels in India. He is a certified USPTA, USPTR and AITA professional coach who has earned multiple awards including USPTRs prestigious "Coach of the Year Award-India“ and PTR "Presidents award." He holds the title of “masters tennis instructor.“
Eric is a USPTA and PTR certified tennis professional who is currently Director of Tennis and Pickleball at a historic South Carolina club. Suresh and Eric can be found on the courts each day with our staff teaching techniques during sports instruction, selectives and clinic periods at our New York camp. Our program includes intra-camp and inter-camp tennis tournaments. Our campers also partake in a Davis Cup tournament in addition to camper-counselor challenges. During Rest Hour private lessons - at no additional charge - are available to any of our campers. Those who enjoy tennis at the more leisurely level focus more on developing skills while more avid players can participate in our Tennis Academy, which is a higher level instructional program available to campers entering fifth grade and above for an entire morning of enhanced instruction over a two week block. The Academy helps players improve their tennis play combined with strength and conditioning.
