Field Trips & Teen Tours at Camp Pontiac

As campers get older, they want to feel more independent and have new experiences. Camp Pontiac’s programming makes this a breeze because campers get the best of both worlds. Our Teen Tours allow campers to get a more mature experience with an amazing trip away from camp – but they still get to come back home to Pontiac to do their favorite camp activities.

We keep our 8th and 9th graders a little closer to home with trips by coach bus that are for 4 days and 3 nights. We alternate between a Boston/Cape Cod trip and a Washington, D.C./Philadelphia/Hershey Park adventure every year so that returning campers experience both trips. Pontiac blends academia and excitement as we tour university campuses, explore attractions like the National Mall and Boston Harbor, and enjoy local eateries in the famous cities we visit.

The trips for our 10th and 11th grade campers, which last 10 days and 9 nights, are longer in duration as we fly to these incredible destinations. Just like our 8th and 9th graders, we alternate between Las Vegas/Sedona/Scottsdale and Los Angeles/San Diego/Palm Springs.

As our campers near their graduation dates, we love that our Teen Tours allow our campers to visit universities in the cities we explore. Showcasing multiple campuses allows campers to experience firsthand what to plan for and maybe even give them a better idea of what they’re looking for in a college. The adventures our campers experience - such as to the Grand Canyon or Universal Studios - are complemented by our relaxing days filled with enjoying hotel amenities like the pools and lazy rivers, or even catching a Dodgers or Diamondbacks baseball game! Pontiac keeps every summer fresh and exciting for our older campers as we help them transition into adulthood in a safe and supervised way.

Regardless of our campers’ ages, our teen tours are amazing because they can experience the fun of traveling with their closest friends while still getting to come back to camp to enjoy all their favorite Pontiac end-of-summer activities including Color War, Carnival, Roller Disco, and Prom.
